Detailed description:

SASI (Single Anastomosis Sleeve Ileal Bypass) is one of the modern bariatric operations that combines two mechanisms — reduction of stomach volume and partial restriction of intestinal absorption.

During the operation, the stomach is reduced as in the case of Sleeve Gastrectomy, and then a part of the small intestine is connected to the stomach with a special connection (anastomosis). As a result, the person consumes less food, feels full more quickly, and the body absorbs fewer calories.
